2014 Campaign: YES on 2D! — The Lafayette Clean Energy Initiative
Lafayette voters can choose a clean energy future for our town while also saving money on energy bills, by investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy. Read about Ballot Issue 2D, how it benefits you and Lafayette, and why to VOTE YES ON 2D.
Election Result: Issue 2D did NOT pass (46% YES / 54% NO).
Next Step: Develop a clean energy plan that doesn't require public money.
Energy Sustainability Essays
- TopTenUSA.org and Enervee.com – Most energy efficient products on the market (appliances, TVs, cars, etc)
- DSIREusa.org – Incentives (rebates) for renewable energy and energy efficiency products, organized by state.
- EnergySmartYES.com – A Boulder County program that makes residential and commercial energy efficiency upgrades easy by using one-on-one Energy Advising. EnergySmart has been most successful in cities with strong public outreach who invest municipal funds to further incentivize energy advising and upgrades (as Lafayette can do if Issue 2D passes!).
- Longs Peak Energy Conservation – A Boulder County program that focuses on providing income-qualified weatherization services (insulation, air sealing, furnace and window and refrigerator replacement, conservation information). Many free and low-cost services are available for qualifying residents.
