Teja Bell

Guest Teacher, Movement Teacher

Teja Bell (Fudō Myōō Rōshi) is a Zen master, embodied wisdom teacher, and founder of QigongDharma, whose life’s work unites the Dharma and Dao through meditation, martial arts, and healing energy practices. A lifelong practitioner and teacher, he guides an integrated path of embodied insight, energetic cultivation, and awakening.

A 6th-degree black belt in Aikido and an ordained Zen master (Rōshi) in the Rinzai lineage, Teja is the 84th ancestral successor transmitted by Junpo Denis Kelly Rōshi of Hollow Bones Zen. His Dharma name, Fudō Myōō, reflects the fierce compassion and clarity that characterize his teaching.
• Aikido & Internal Arts: With deep training roots, Teja teaches Aikido as a path of blending, non-harming, and reconciliation. He integrates this martial foundation with the restorative, transformative practices of Qigong and Chinese internal arts to support physical vitality, emotional balance, and spiritual clarity.
• Zen & Meditation: As a Rinzai Zen master, he leads retreats and trainings in embodied mindfulness, direct awareness, and breath-centered practice. Since 1999, he has taught more than 150 residential retreats at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, collaborating with leading vipassanā teachers including Jack Kornfield and Trudy Goodman.
• Integration & Embodied Spirituality: Teja’s unique synthesis of Zen, Aikido, Qigong, yoga, and healing arts illuminates their shared principles—guiding students toward community, ethical living, emotional maturity, and awakening in everyday life.

Through in-depth teacher training programs, international retreats, online courses, and embodied Dharma practice, Teja Bell offers accessible ways for people to integrate movement, meditation, and energy awareness as a living path of healing and awakening.
